IT'S MEEE!

HELLO! and welcome back to yet again another high " quality " post of LLG ( The Little Legend Guy ) that took a year to make cause I'm a lazy piece of sugar honey ICED tea! So, what do I have in store for you lovely viewers for today?! Could there be another chapter of TFTBU ( The Fates That Bind Us ) out today?! Could I have finally achieved some sort of mastery even at the slightest for the art that I have actually committed more than a year trying to improve?! COULD I FINALLY START DOING YOUTUBE VIDEOS LIKE I PROMISED?!?! Nah this is just gonna be a post for excuses for me not achieving any of those... Well let's jump right into it!

As per usual our first topic will be the art. For this weeks ( or month because I've been lazy on posts) HP ( Horrible Picture ) of the day is gonna include several entries. The first one is on the left of this very text and is one I drew mainly to practice character design, Hair and expressions ( very light on the last one though ). It is a drawing of the main character of the book I am writing, TFTBU, who is known as Tera. It was all sketched out and inked on paper so no digital stuff was done to the image ( other than the the Instagram filters ). Some things I'd like to note is that this is the first time I've ever drawn female hair and the third time I've drawn hair recently ( and by recent I mean in the last 7 months ). Also, I got halfway done inking the sketch when I realized that Tera is actually supposed to wear glasses so I messed that up quite a bit...
Next up is a drawing of a secondary character of the book who is slightly based of myself ( character is Mateo). The features are based around me and many people have actually said they can tell that it's me so I'm really happy that I've managed to cartoon myself slightly although I do plan to tweak the character's features a bit. As the same with the last drawing ( the one of Tera ) I forgot the iconic " Goggles " that truly marks the character as me which made me very sad but as for the things I was practicing with this drawing such as, 3/4 view, character design, expression and hair all came together quite nicely. Lastly I did sketch and ink this one much like the other and if you are wondering why I inked so much ( I don't very often unless it is an important drawing which they are but that's not the reason.) it is because there is a way to manipulate the photo with your mobile smart phone to actually make drawings easier to see if they are inked which is why the next drawing won't look so hot...
This is what a non-inked drawing looks with my phone even with some editing... It's a bit hard to see but you can see the guides I've made for the hair and eyes but have yet to finish them. I do plan on doing the whole thing same as the other drawings as this is supposed to be the other side character Ethan. It'll focus on character design, expression, hair and the 3/4 view. Definitely will be a difficult one as the other two characters could get away with messy hair but Ethan has styled hair so yeah... Well that does it for today's HP.
On to the next topic, YouTube! Those who know me or those who have watched the short film that I did for UIL ( University Interscholastic League ) called, " It's Just a Dream " link is right HERE so check that out if you want but back to the topic! I am not camera shy so YouTube should be no problem for me right? CORRECT! problem is however ( here comes the excuse ) I am missing some sound equipment... I have the mic and some audio software ( Adobe Audition CC ) but if I don't want to have to lug my laptop to every film setting and use my phone as the connection for the mic! I have to buy a headphone and mic split jack. So yeah... Might do just a voice over video or a stationary one but IDK if my attention span can handle it so we'll just have to wait and see! Also... maybe a surprise to ya'll but I am not the most proactive person so I might also get lazy and that'll definitely cause delays...
Well to not degrade myself any longer for my laziness and procrastination let's get onto the next project I haven't worked on in awhile! TFTBU or The Fates That Bind Us ( just in case you didn't get the acronym after the time I mentioned it at the beginning ) is still on hiatus because I suck at writing, drove my story into a whole, got rid of months of work and am now thinking of how to recover. That being said, I think of the story all the time, new chapter coming soon! Also I'm working on another series so that there will be something to kinda help spread my work a bit but it's going to be very similar to TFTBU.
To end today's post, I'd like to talk a little about a school thing I did this week that really was fun! So, those who know me, and some who don't, know that I am part of the AAVTC ( Arts, Audio, Video, Technology, Class ) in my highschool. This is a program that anyone at my school can take and it can lead to specialized classes for things like Film, Graphic Design and Animation. Thing is, I've taken at least the base level for all of the things offered by this program and have been highly active doing things like school news, UIL and etc. That being said I and another student who is a classmate and friend of mine took up the opportunity to join our two teachers in charge of the program to visit the middle school to promote the program. I had a great deal of fun and the kids really loved our presentation as we were the loudest and had some pretty nice videos to show off the program and what the students in it do. It was really fun especially considering that I've taken just about everything so questions about any class was a breeze for me. That's all for today so till next post ( whenever that'll be ) I'll see ya'll later!

Back For The New Year!

Hello and welcome to the first post of from LLG of the new year! It has felt like an eternity since I last posted which was just under a month ago. My break went a little different then I had planned but it was still as busy as I had predicted. That being said, I'm looking forward to the new year and will continue to upload as much as I can and would like to start as always with an HP!
This is a picture of the first page of the brand new sketch book I have started using :3. It was a Christmas gift from my grandmother and while it isn't the book style sketch book I was planning on using, it is a normal sketch book with a hardcover which is really nice. Of course, I have some of my drawing warm up exercises on the tanother op left of the picture which I use to try and steady my hand and to get my coordination synced up. The next couple of drawings are all sketches that all had some sort of reference whether it be pictures or real life. I've been getting slightly better at following form and stuff for small scale anatomy with the hands and feet but still having trouble drawing legs and arms.
Moving on, I'd like to announce something that I am very proud of. For the past couple of months, I have been part of the first students of my highschool to enter the Texas UIL competition with a live action film. It was quite the experience to work on such a project especially cause I paired up with some really motivated people. There wasn't many days were there was no arguments but it was all because everyone was taking part and had ideas which is way better than being paired with people with no ambition. It was a little disheartening that the idea I had for the film, back in August when we had yet to decide the story, was not chosen and we instead went with a completely alien concept for me ( making quite the difficulty for me to understand majority of the stuff) but it worked out in the end. If you want to watch the video I'll leave the link right HERE. Those who follow my Instagram will be able to tell that I actually play a role in the film as a side character which was really odd because I also was a camera man but I hope you do enjoy it and if - IF we make any progress in the competition ( highly unlikely ) then I'll let you guys know.
Onto another creation of mine, TFTBU is in a little bit of an awkward spot right now... It is the first story that I've formally started writing and it was going good but I messed up! Those who read the book TFTBU ( " The Fates That Bind Us " on wattpad by llgwriter ) will know that the 3 characters have already gone through their first fight and I think it went really well as I planned almost everything meticulously...ALMOST! You see, I forgot the aftermath of the fight, which because I want it to be a realistic outcome, which gave a big reveal early, traumatized 2 characters way too early and to try and make things continue to move, I had to have them recover way too easy for such trauma! In short, I need to fix it up by either editing chapters a lot or just getting rid of some. Till I can think of how to do that, I may start a new series to be a creative aid. That's a maybe for now and even if I do decide to do it, it'll take awhile to tweak the concept to be a good story as it was one I though of when I was around 8...
To finish off the blog post for today, I'd like to say that I may finally be getting to start a vlogging thing as I got the camera's, the tripods, laptop, software and almost got all the audio stuff. Obviously  that is also a big maybe as making videos takes recording, syncing, editing and lots of planning which will take up some of the little time I have through the day and energy I have to upload this stuff. I mean, be lenient on me, I'm a highschooler with no job, busy days and writes long posts, chapters and takes photos for you to enjoy for free. I do do this cause I enjoy but I kinda go the extra mile quite a bit so going even more might even be a bit too much for me. Who knows, with that out of the way I think we are just about done with this post so till next time, I'll see ya'll later!

Improvements

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! Today's might be a bit different from the usual posts as normally don't talk much about my personal life other than band but this post will have some personal life stuff.  So first things first, I'm actually trying to get my first job! I've had " jobs " before such as working with my dad or family friends but never anything like working at a commercial store. It's a really big step in my life and I really hope that I can use the money from said job to buy more things I need like art supplies, cameras, and I think that's really it for the things I need...
Anyways moving onto the next topic, my current sketch book ( much like my last ) is falling apart. Those who know me know that I am not a very gentle person... So since my drawings are... Tear-able ( sorry) I decided to buy another sketch book. Usually this wouldn't be something I would bring up but, usually I have had a history of buying cheaper stuff as I feel that one who is in the process of getting better at a certain skill. They should not buy the fanciest stuff. It's not an ideal I push to others but that is the ideal I go with. Anyways back on topic, as today's HP will show I have improved a little. So once I finish all the pages of my current $1 Wal-mart sketchbook I will graduate to my brand new $5, hard cover, Artist Loft sketchbook! Still pretty cheap but it will most definitely be an upgrade for me!
I think that is a good point to stop personal life stuff and move on to the HP.
The HP may be a smaller one than usual with only two drawings but it does have an interesting revelation to it. The drawing on the left was one I basically copied off of Pinterest as it was made to be a practice. However, the smaller drawing on the right is much different. It is less basic shapes and more silhouetted and that was not a sketch that I saw online. That was a pose, which I'll post below, of an actual person. I started with whats called, " lines of actions " which is basically stick figures that one uses to be their base. From there, I used some reference from the picture to the anatomy in order to piece it together. Lastly I inked most of it with a pen only leaving out parts I want to improve. This step up from straight up having to copy or trace a sketch is a huge step for me as in a drawing I haven't posted but may someday. I came across a problem where I could get the head shape quite right so I got my camera, set the timer and posed. For the first time I can actually just use a photography of a person in order to get basic poses down. Very soon I might be able to start working on the comic series that I am currently writing as a book which you can read on the link on the face -> 0-0.
Speaking about my series, I want to make a different title and cover so suggestions are highly appreciated. Not only that but I have published an entirely new chapter so it's worth checking it out! For those who haven't read it yet, I'd highly recommend you to check it out and to remember that as a new novelist I am open to critic just as I am with my artwork. That's all I have for today. I hope you enjoyed the post and till next time, I'll see ya'll later!
Picture I used for drawing :3.

Back at it Again!

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! It seems like the periods between post have been getting longer and longer and with my constant attempts to shorten them failing awfully. Have I given up on my blog? Nope! I know I've said it a hundred times but I'm sure that I'll end up saying it a hundred more that I am going to try my best to get post out as much as possible even if that ruins the scheduled. If you like the blog then just subscribe so that you can get notified of post and you'll have no problem! Might sound like a cheesy money grab from subscribers but honestly that'll never happen with the amount of page views I get. Anyways Lets get started on the stuff you came here for.
SO this page is my attempts on copying facial expressions of characters of some of my favorite web-comics. The comics such as " I Love Yoo" and " The Beehive " are both from the site Webtoons while " Four Leaf " is from Tapastic. Both are great sites and the comics are ones I'd highly recommend for others to read as they are fun to read and have good art styles. Readers of this blog know that I myself want to start a comic series but at the moment my artistic skills are not yet at the level to do that however, I have gotten the story of an idea for a comic series and been working on it on the story writing site of Wattpad. I'd love for any of my readers to go check that out in the link of the face 0-0. I've spent quite some time on it and even got a few chapters released but with the lack of time I've had it has been a real mess trying to work on it so I'd love to hear some critic on it just as I always ask for.
Now for a little insight of just where in the never ending void of band has my time gone I've been taking a lot of photos with a new camera I bought ( Sony Cyber Shot DSC-H300) of things at football games and band competition which I will post here!
Our school Marching Band during a parade through the city. This picture wasn't taken by me as I am actually in the picture as the person with the blue shirt and goggles on my neck.

The press box with audience at our first competition of the year. We got first place.
One of our band directors over looking the football game. Every Friday we stay to the very end of every game no matter how far it takes place and how long it drags on.
A kid on the field before the game started. The smoke behind him was from a fog machine and I really liked how it flowed behind him.
The press box and a band that I'm not a part of at the Yamaha Band Cup Competition. This was on the side that only other competing bands could view from. This allowed us to get a view of the back side of the show. This took place at Judson High school.
A fellow band member of mine who is a huge music nerd. He sat in the middle and away from the rest so that he could study the other bands. After this picture I asked him about his thoughts about the band he saw when I took the picture and he wasn't impressed...

A band that preformed at the Yamaha Cup. This is from the other side ( audience view ) and the band had people ride bikes through the show.
That's just some of the dozen pictures I've taken of my band travels and there are more to come as the season still got some weeks left.
Anyways, band isn't the only thing I have been taking pictures for.
As many of you probably know, I have a Deviant Art account that I post some art on and as of now I have started posting picture prints. These are photos that while aren't taken by the best photographer as I just started ( especially when I'm using a camera for filming class, working on drawing, Trumpet, school and my book.) but they are pretty good, come in a variety of shapes and forms and everyone has at least a days work of editing in Photoshop and or Lightroom in order to give the best possible quality. I am looking to get better equipment and enroll into classes so a little income would be nice. You want to support me then that is fantastic and you could get a nice photograph print ( maybe even art in the future ) for yourself. The link will be in the face right here o3o. So make sure to at least check for anything you might like. This was a much larger post than usual but it also had a long wait for it so I hope that you enjoyed it. Till next post, I'll see y'all later!

Still Alive!

Hello and welcome back to another post of LLG! I know I keep saying that I would be getting into the rhythm but it is painfully obvious that it is possible that I have a bit of re-adjusting in order to get back to my post a week scheduled. I'd like to thank for you guys for being patient and do understand that I am trying to do as much as I can to get post out as much as possible.
Lastly before I begin the normal part of the post I'd like to point out several things. First is that I am in a filming class which as the main assignment of the course is to work on a short narrative film for a Texas school competition called the " University Interscholastic League ", which is a big project along side the mini projects I have to do for the class so a lot of creativeness, energy and time that I would spend on my book and blog is occupied at the moment ( along with the fact that for the school marching band I am required to practice 8 hours before and after school every week and have football games the band attends. However, this will end around November so it won't be much longer. ). Lastly as I do want to get into filming ( reason I took a filming course ) I did buy a cheap new camera to use for videos I may post. projects and pictures. I do have a more expensive camera I can use but it is very stressful to hold a couple hundred dollars of tech in hand so for day to day stuff I will be using the cheaper one one which will be used for today's post. Speaking of which, I think now would be a good time to move onto that.
This is the first time I've used this camera for taking pictures for sketches so it'll take some time for me to get use to. Anyways, this is just a picture of a sketch where I was practicing getting the head shape and to mark the areas where the hair would be. The reason I marked it instead of drawing the actual hair is because I have yet to be able to draw hair well enough to consider experimenting on my notes... I've practiced hair and will continue to and when I am able to do it properly I will post it. Anyways that's the drawing for today. I hope that you enjoyed the post and I do hope that maybe some of you may check out the book I've been working on at the Wattpad site. You can find the link to it in one of my previous post or just search my username of LLGWriter on the site. Till next post I'll see ya'll later!

HP!!!!

Hello and welcome back to another HP post!!! Sorry about the long delays but with the study year ending I've been showered in reviews and projects that have been killing all of my time and energy that I normally use to post. That being said I am very sorry for all the delays and that since the year is still going I may have even more but, for today I have found the time and energy to post so I'll be showing of some recent digital works I have done ^-^! Let's do this!

This first one is one I did for some extra credit and is based around the Shakespeare play of Caesar. This is the most recent one I have worked on and was made with a new tool I have bought known as the Wacom's Intuos Draw small tablet which has been amazing!
This next one is an animation I worked on for a video portfolio I am going to be working on quite soon and was very fun in making ^-^.
This is the last one for today but it is an animation I had worked on for Earth day and would've posted earlier but I had no time to do so.... Well that concludes today's HP and I don't know when I may post the next one but I just want to thank everyone for being patient with the delays. I am trying my best ti post as soon as possible. Till next post I'll see ya'll later!

No HP for today

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG and before we go any further I would like to apologize for the lack of post and the still lack of content for you guys but at the end of this post I may just post something for you guys to look at anyways. So, what is the reason I don't have anything to show for today? Well, for many of you who seen the one post I did on Friday I was inspired to do a big drawing and I did so on that day using only two colors I had available to be via pastel and charcoal but while it turned out great it felt a bit empty as there was a lot of white space. So it took my till the next day to get some advice on what to fill that white space with. Unfortunately said advice required more color which I ended up having to buy a Daler Rowney color pencil kit ( same brand as my charcoal, pastel and blending sticks) which based on my drawings so far one could note that I've never colored much without digital means which I could have done but with such a piece that I find enjoyable in itself without digital work I wanted it colored on the paper ( but I may do a digital work sometime of it ). So, since I had no way of knowing things like blending, color, and quality it pretty much took me today to figure that out ( although most of my day was filled with other stuff not just experimenting with five dollar color pencils ) and that leads us to now. I would like to be done and be able to show you guys already but I am taking my time with this one as I want it to be great ( to my skill level of course ) and using new supplies, techniques and even adding a whole new layer to my practice is kinda intense so please be patient with me. Now that in it self explains the situation very well to this point but there is one more thing holding me back... Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, I'm sorry but not only is every piece of it just so skillfully crafted with its graphics and music but it is really fun to play and the hours I've spent on it just last week and this weekend are disgusting >-<. That's all for today and I hope you are enjoying the blog. Till next post I'll see ya'll later but as promised I do have something for you of a digitization of a sketch I did and I do not think I have uploaded to this blog yet for some reason so I hope you enjoy it!
Now that I checked again my blog I just saw that I did show this but just with a bunch of photoshop stuff all around it so enjoy the clearer picture for now I guess >-<.

Multi Monday HP!!!

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG, today is Monday and is a day where I post 2, not one but 2 HP's for you guys to hate and cringe at. Before we start I'd like to let you know that I will be announcing something after all the HP's so make sure to stick around for that. Without further ado lets get started!
Before we get started I'd like to clarify that while it is one photo it is two separate drawings as I was practicing different style of buildings with different complexities and so on so one pic, two HP's. For the first one ( left ) is a simple modern two story building most likely commercial as it has no curved roof, sign and a window made to present something. I did not add any name as I felt it would be better for the imagination as it is very simple almost like a base for something that could be more complex. I tried to draw the little cloth roof above the main door way and also a terrace? patio? whatever the thing on the top is called ( in front of the second floor door) which I felt was a nice touch as in my small town many small business shops have such structures. Onto the next one I was going for a more, medieval or feudal European style of building as in the future when I am better and could maybe make a series I would like to explore the idea of a time like that for a story which has been done to death already but still sounds like fun. For this one I heavily used references as I know as a beginner is important but for the last few HP's I have not been doing as I tried to push myself. With this drawing unlike the other I had more of an idea of what I wanted it to be as I've always like the view of these old inns that would be a haven and gathering place for all sorts of people like warriors on a quest or just some farmers visiting the city to sell their crop. This one had lots more time and detail but while I feel it is a good drawing out of my bad ones it is still child's play to what I want to become so I like it but it isn't my aspiration. Now for both of these I used simple tactics of sketching out the general detail first, proceeding to sketch the smaller more refined details before shading them with some very soft charcoal pencils. Now these drawings have been really refreshing as I've been making absolute crap of lately and while these aren't fantastic they are definitely being posted to my DeviantArt which brings me to the first of the two announcements I have for today. First and foremost as many may know on this blog I have a contact me page. This page has only three ways of contacting me but one of them is my DeviantArt and it contains my username. I have gone to make this account for you to contact me and to see any work that I consider some of my most proud drawings of my progression. You can see and commentate these at any time at http://phantomchild64.deviantart.com/ or just look up Phantomchild64 on DeviantArt and you'll find it. My next announcement is that I've felt a bit creatively drained and I feel that my skills aren't improving as they should because I am not drawing something that'll challenge me so a good solution is trying to challenge myself is to take a challenge.
Starting tomorrow I am going to partake in this 30 day challenge the very best I can which means that there may be some really bad drawings but that's me trying to get these done in time so sorry if they don't please you but just know I'll try my best. If you can't read the text ( as the pic may blur ) I'll write what day and challenge the drawing I post will be for. Till next post I'll see ya'll later!

Double HP of Monday's!!!

Hello and welcome to another double HP of the day! If you don't know why there are two HP's rather than one it is because due to the schedule I have a good four days to make HP's for you. Why isn't four instead of two? cause I'm lazy that's why. SO LETS GET STARTED!
For this first one I wanted to show off that I finally got my hands on a at home version of photoshop cs6 and I am loving it! Right now I'm working on coloring and refining this piece but I worked quickly to finish the basic outline and coloring to show you guys it.
This next one is another not completely finished but it is just a little something I started in order to practice my anatomy skills of a person in a normal pose. With that that concludes today's HP. I know it was a short one and I am sorry. I'll try and get more quality post out soon and with my skills improving and with better equipment and software I may be able to start a series in like two months and I look forward to it! Till next post I'll see ya'll later.

Horrible Picture for you GUYS to rant about!!!!!!

Hello lovely audience that gives zero feedback and welcome to another post on this blog LLG. Today I'd like to also talk about the pens I use to ink a lot of the pictures you see and yeah. So without further ado lets get started!
Today I tried challenging myself a bit with something that leaves normal artist unfazed I found out after I did it so I had like 10 minutes of high self esteem there * cries *. So, the challenge I set for me today was to draw a person that I saw in class while not asking them to stay still and so on. I tried my best to get the folds of the shirt?...sweater? whatever the thing that girls where that leaves the shoulders sticking out I don't know I also did my best to work with the hair slightly as most of you know my I don't do a lot of hair in my art but I am trying my best to learn how to work it. Next if you pay very close attention to the shading I did with the pencil on the hair and on the " shirt " they are different as the shirt I smudged to make it look smoother rather than the hair which kinda benefits in my opinion from the fibery look at the moment cause I know cartoons don't usually have that ( the main art style I am trying to achieve is of course cartoon as I've said in this blog before.). Lastly as many of my drawings have I outline them heavily with inking pens with outer lines being more bold especially in more shadowy areas while the details tend to have thinner. The only reason I do this is because I think it looks nice and I'm sure there is an art style that uses this technique but I can not call it off the top of my head and I try not to copy art styles as I want to make my own art style ( but time to time I will make exceptions for projects, highlights and of course for practice). Finally the last thing I would like to talk about are the inking pens I use that my " art style " ( if it can even be called that ) depends on. The reason I would like to talk about this is because if you've seen my older post I did a post on the stuff I use but I didn't have inking pens to show as I lost my old ones ( that I've had for years ) and didn't yet buy my new ones I use now. So, the pens I like the best and were my old ones ( and used in this drawing as I found them ^-^) are my  Japanese imported Sakura brand Magna set! These are monsters of inking pens as I bought them in 2013 and with little use every single one of them work perfect. The set comes with multiple pens and a graphic and brush marker thing. I personally like using the brush and graphic for thicker more artsy lines in drawings and they look really well in the end. To buy this set you can go to any art store and purchase them at mainly $20 I believe. Lastly are the pen set I bought recently and while they aren't the monsters of Sakura they still are usefully as they get the job done with my other drawing. These are the Artist's Loft Illustration pens. They come with the standard pens so no fancy brush or graphic markers but they do have the same and more sizes of the Magna set. In the end, if interested you can buy these for around $9 and are great for people with little money to spare. Sorry about the long post and I do hope to see some comments below about some tips on how I can improve. Till next post I'll see ya'll later!

Pencils....

Hello and welcome to another post in LLG and I know that most of you who go to this blog for things like music and games have been disappointed and I'm sorry. I do want to talk about those topics and I will but lately since I do have a lot of artsy friends and I myself have been trying to get better art is something I do think of daily and is super easy for me to write about very quickly which is a lifesaver when one post as much as I do. So, the topic of the day is PENCILS!!! Now, your probably wondering how can an entire post for a day be just about a writing utensil that isn't a marker or pen thus being only a third of the hand writing and drawing utensils? Well, there are first many types of pencils for various uses, pros and cons but first what are the pencils we will go over in today's post? The pencils talked about today are wooden pencils, mechanical, charcoal, color and premium color. Me as the one who can barely be called a beginner didn't know about the premium color pencils till recently and still don't see the difference between them but let's move on. First up is a regular wooden pencil.
Regular pencils are perfect for things like shading and even fine point drawing. The downside to these is that they have to be sharpened. Next mechanical pencils.
These pencils are the ones I prefer to use as all you need to do when your lead is short is to either push a button or pop a top off in order to fill the lead. Downside is that shading on it is a bit odd.
Moving on we come across the obscure ( to me at least ) charcoals pencil.
Charcoal pencils are great for sketching and shading purpose but smears very easy. Lastly, I'd like to talk about the various color pencils and this is where I think is pretty absurd.
So, for us non artist we would be ok buying a 72 pack of crazyart color pencils for $10. That's all fine and dandy but I have art friends who are willing to shell out an extra $20 dollars at a total of $40 dollars for " premium " 72 pack of color pencils. What do these " premium " color pencil have so special? More color variations ( slightly ) and they don't fade after weeks.... That's it....Well, for today's QOTD I'd like to know if you guys are the ones who'd be willing to shell out the extra $20 for 1 1/2 of a difference? As with every QOTD you can leave your answer in the comment section below and it may be featured in the next post. See ya'll next post.

HP of the Day ( self portrait)

Hello and welcome to today's HP's take notice of the " s" which means that there is more than one today as for those of you new here wouldn't know, is that every Friday and Sunday I don't post which means the following day's I post two HP's because of the extra time I have. If you don't know what an HP is, it is a " horrible picture " drawn by me that is posted daily in the hopes that with all the drawing I do and the hopeful comments of advice I beg for will help me become a better artist. Those of you that have been here before will most likely know that last HP I promised that I would use a scanner rather than my phone camera and that I would use a sketchbook rather than a notebook in the near future. Well, for my first drawing shown above it is done in my sketch book and it is scanned rather than photographed. This is a project for a class and at one point will be painted, yes painted rather than just colored even though I haven't done so yet so wish me luck and while things are still fixable by a simple eraser give me some pointers to try and improve it. I have heard a lot from friends that the head is too small so that is already noted.
The next and final drawing today was one that sadly wouldn't scan and is on my notebook. Nevertheless this is my first semi completed drawing as it has all the details except color. This is also the first drawing I've put hair on so I am expecting lots about that * nervous laugh*. Those of you who read the title would guess that this is supposed to be a sort of cartoon version of myself writing this very post with some headphones on and unbrushed messy hair. I'll be honest right now in saying that cartoon me looks way cooler than real me so yeah. Lastly, if you would notice dark outlines on the drawing you could make the inference that I got some pens which make me very happy ^-^. If you have any tips or advice based on what you see you can comment in the comment section below and till next post I'll see ya'll later.

3-D Animation

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG, today we are going to talk about 3-D animation. Specifically, what it is, how it is used and what are my experiences with it as I have worked on it myself in the past. Sadly all pictures shown are not my work as I have done very little quite a time ago and anything I have done has been lost and the reason I don't have any new stuff like in the past year is because I have been busy practicing and working on other things ( like hand drawing and digital art as of lately ) but sometime in the future since I do have a Blender ( 3-d modeling and animating software ) on my laptop.
So, what is 3-D modeling and animating? Well, 3-D modeling is simply where you create a 3 dimensional virtual object using special software. This models can be anything as simple as a knife to something as complex as an entire city! This has various uses as they can be used for things such as movies ( the entire movie or even a CGI edit ) games or even non entertainment stuff such as architecture and various fields of science.
3-D modeling given the right tools, great tutorials and hard work can be very fun and not too difficult for simple stuff. I've found that it so simple that even a middle schooler ( when I first got into 3-D animation and made a rocket ) can do it. Was my model like the movie toy story? not even close but it was really fun and when your the only middle schooler in the class with a fully animated and rendered ( rendering is a common term to use in 3-D modeling that is basically just loading textures, color and animations to a usable file type) you feel really cool :3. Now that would be the last big project I would do in Blender until I got to a game design class where I had to make 3-D models that could be placed in games which was even better as I learned not only how to animate and model but also call up said models and animations for a programed game. In the end I really think any young person with a computer ( hopefully a newer one as my last laptop couldn't handle the software and burnt itself >-<) to give it try. To end this post with the QOTD I want to know, " Are you guys considering trying out 3-D modeling?" You can leave your answer in the comment section below and till next post.

Equipment

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG, today's topic is gonna be focused on the equipment and software I use to do lots of the stuff that will appear on this blog and what I may obtain in the future so with that said let's get started! Obviously I'm not the best artist and because of this I would like to save money and equipment that would be more appropriate for art ( like a sketch book, inking pens, special pencil and etc.) so for the moment my main art book is a 70 sheet wide ruled Mead notebook that is used for all my sketching's shown below.

Obviously not a high grade sketchbook ( I do own one ) but that's how it'll be for quite awhile. Next is the most important tool I use and that is my pencil.

This is the brand and model of pencil I use ( Pen-Mate mechanical pencil ) and the lead size various on what exactly I am trying to do. Next is my digital pencil/paintbrush/pen/air brush and etc. My one and only Jot Pro Stylus!
Next is the software I use is a pretty noice :3 one if I could get on my laptop but I still have the phone version which is where art like this comes from.

This is Auto-desk's Sketchbook application and it is an absolute great alternative for Photoshop but do bear in mind that while there is a free version it is the paid phone version that I am currently using. Next, I do use Photoshop but for certain reasons I do not wish to disclose I am limited to when and where I can use it and I've done stuff like so on this.
Another Adobe software I use ( under the same limitations as Photoshop ) is Illustrator for things like below.

Leaving Adobe I use Blender ( A free 3-D Resource!!!) that is great to use. Sadly most of the work I've done on it has been lost so until I do some more work on it there will be no showcases on it ;^;. Lastly as I am learning coding ( Code Academy is a great place to learn ) I am experimenting on a program known as Unity and gosh boy is it fun! ^-^ Sadly there is no showcases for that as well at the moment but hopefully in the future there will be. Now to end this post what are some software and equipment I'd want and may get in the future? For equipment I'd love a drawing tablet ^-^, inking pens and that sums that up pretty much. For software though * deep breath * that's a long story so I'm going to break it up in chunks. For art, definitely computer version of Sketchbook, Photoshop and Illustrator. For music, Vocaliods would be so fun and I wish I could get Garage Band but I have a mac so if you guys know of something like that for mac, Help a friend out here then PLEASE >-<. Finally for animation I do know how to animate on things like Photoshop, Sketchbook and FlipNote ( realizing that I forgot to list the best animating tool that is FlipNote >-<) so I'm good on that. With that said this brings the conclusion to that very drawn out post that is only gonna be seen by maybe five friends who I hound about this stuff but someday... someday I will get comments and or followers and I will have a point for these long post 0_0 but for now I just do what I want on this blog to try and improve myself just a little more everyday. This blog provides a great challenge everyday to try and draw everyday ( even if they are bad) and to try and think of topics ( even if they are bad ) and I do quite enjoy it and I hope you guys do to. ^-^ sorry about the long post and hope to see your comments on the QOTD which is, " which of the listed equip, or software do you like most?" With that, see ya'll guys in tomorrows post!
