IT'S MEEE!

HELLO! and welcome back to yet again another high " quality " post of LLG ( The Little Legend Guy ) that took a year to make cause I'm a lazy piece of sugar honey ICED tea! So, what do I have in store for you lovely viewers for today?! Could there be another chapter of TFTBU ( The Fates That Bind Us ) out today?! Could I have finally achieved some sort of mastery even at the slightest for the art that I have actually committed more than a year trying to improve?! COULD I FINALLY START DOING YOUTUBE VIDEOS LIKE I PROMISED?!?! Nah this is just gonna be a post for excuses for me not achieving any of those... Well let's jump right into it!

 As per usual our first topic will be the art. For this weeks ( or month because I've been lazy on posts) HP ( Horrible Picture ) of the day is gonna include several entries. The first one is on the left of this very text and is one I drew mainly to practice character design, Hair and expressions ( very light on the last one though ). It is a drawing of the main character of the book I am writing, TFTBU, who is known as Tera. It was all sketched out and inked on paper so no digital stuff was done to the image ( other than the the Instagram filters ). Some things I'd like to note is that this is the first time I've ever drawn female hair and the third time I've drawn hair recently ( and by recent I mean in the last 7 months ). Also, I got halfway done inking the sketch when I realized that Tera is actually supposed to wear glasses so I messed that up quite a bit...

  Next up is a drawing of a secondary character of the book who is slightly based of myself ( character is Mateo). The features are based around me and many people have actually said they can tell that it's me so I'm really happy that I've managed to cartoon myself slightly although I do plan to tweak the character's features a bit. As the same with the last drawing ( the one of Tera ) I forgot the iconic " Goggles " that truly marks the character as me which made me very sad but as for the things I was practicing with this drawing such as, 3/4 view, character design, expression and hair all came together quite nicely. Lastly I did sketch and ink this one much like the other and if you are wondering why I inked so much ( I don't very often unless it is an important drawing which they are but that's not the reason.) it is because there is a way to manipulate the photo with your mobile smart phone to actually make drawings easier to see if they are inked which is why the next drawing won't look so hot...

This is what a non-inked drawing looks with my phone even with some editing... It's a bit hard to see but you can see the guides I've made for the hair and eyes but have yet to finish them. I do plan on doing the whole thing same as the other drawings as this is supposed to be the other side character Ethan. It'll focus on character design, expression, hair and the 3/4 view. Definitely will be a difficult one as the other two characters could get away with messy hair but Ethan has styled hair so yeah... Well that does it for today's HP.
On to the next topic, YouTube! Those who know me or those who have watched the short film that I did for UIL ( University Interscholastic League ) called, " It's Just a Dream " link is right HERE so check that out if you want but back to the topic! I am not camera shy so YouTube should be no problem for me right? CORRECT! problem is however ( here comes the excuse ) I am missing some sound equipment... I have the mic and some audio software ( Adobe Audition CC ) but if I don't want to have to lug my laptop to every film setting and use my phone as the connection for the mic! I have to buy a headphone and mic split jack. So yeah... Might do just a voice over video or a stationary one but IDK if my attention span can handle it so we'll just have to wait and see! Also... maybe a surprise to ya'll but I am not the most proactive person so I might also get lazy and that'll definitely cause delays...
Well to not degrade myself any longer for my laziness and procrastination let's get onto the next project I haven't worked on in awhile! TFTBU or The Fates That Bind Us ( just in case you didn't get the acronym after the time I mentioned it at the beginning ) is still on hiatus because I suck at writing, drove my story into a whole, got rid of months of work and am now thinking of how to recover. That being said, I think of the story all the time, new chapter coming soon! Also I'm working on another series so that there will be something to kinda help spread my work a bit but it's going to be very similar to TFTBU.
To end today's post, I'd like to talk a little about a school thing I did this week that really was fun! So, those who know me, and some who don't, know that I am part of the AAVTC ( Arts, Audio, Video, Technology, Class ) in my highschool. This is a program that anyone at my school can take and it can lead to specialized classes for things like Film, Graphic Design and Animation. Thing is, I've taken at least the base level for all of the things offered by this program and have been highly active doing things like school news, UIL and etc. That being said I and another student who is a classmate and friend of mine took up the opportunity to join our two teachers in charge of the program to visit the middle school to promote the program. I had a great deal of fun and the kids really loved our presentation as we were the loudest and had some pretty nice videos to show off the program and what the students in it do. It was really fun especially considering that I've taken just about everything so questions about any class was a breeze for me. Back For The New Year!

Hello and welcome to the first post of from LLG of the new year! It has felt like an eternity since I last posted which was just under a month ago. My break went a little different then I had planned but it was still as busy as I had predicted. That being said, I'm looking forward to the new year and will continue to upload as much as I can and would like to start as always with an HP!

This is a picture of the first page of the brand new sketch book I have started using :3. It was a Christmas gift from my grandmother and while it isn't the book style sketch book I was planning on using, it is a normal sketch book with a hardcover which is really nice. Of course, I have some of my drawing warm up exercises on the tanother op left of the picture which I use to try and steady my hand and to get my coordination synced up. The next couple of drawings are all sketches that all had some sort of reference whether it be pictures or real life. I've been getting slightly better at following form and stuff for small scale anatomy with the hands and feet but still having trouble drawing legs and arms. 

Moving on, I'd like to announce something that I am very proud of. For the past couple of months, I have been part of the first students of my highschool to enter the Texas UIL competition with a live action film. It was quite the experience to work on such a project especially cause I paired up with some really motivated people. There wasn't many days were there was no arguments but it was all because everyone was taking part and had ideas which is way better than being paired with people with no ambition. It was a little disheartening that the idea I had for the film, back in August when we had yet to decide the story, was not chosen and we instead went with a completely alien concept for me ( making quite the difficulty for me to understand majority of the stuff) but it worked out in the end. Those who follow my Instagram will be able to tell that I actually play a role in the film as a side character which was really odd because I also was a camera man but I hope you do enjoy it and if - IF we make any progress in the competition ( highly unlikely ) then I'll let you guys know.

Onto another creation of mine, TFTBU is in a little bit of an awkward spot right now... It is the first story that I've formally started writing and it was going good but I messed up! Those who read the book TFTBU ( " The Fates That Bind Us " on wattpad by llgwriter ) will know that the 3 characters have already gone through their first fight and I think it went really well as I planned almost everything meticulously...ALMOST! You see, I forgot the aftermath of the fight, which because I want it to be a realistic outcome, which gave a big reveal early, traumatized 2 characters way too early and to try and make things continue to move, I had to have them recover way too easy for such trauma! In short, I need to fix it up by either editing chapters a lot or just getting rid of some. Till I can think of how to do that, I may start a new series to be a creative aid. That's a maybe for now and even if I do decide to do it, it'll take awhile to tweak the concept to be a good story as it was one I though of when I was around 8... 

To finish off the blog post for today, I'd like to say that I may finally be getting to start a vlogging thing as I got the camera's, the tripods, laptop, software and almost got all the audio stuff. Obviously  that is also a big maybe as making videos takes recording, syncing, editing and lots of planning which will take up some of the little time I have through the day and energy I have to upload this stuff. I mean, be lenient on me, I'm a highschooler with no job, busy days and writes long posts, chapters and takes photos for you to enjoy for free. I do do this cause I enjoy but I kinda go the extra mile quite a bit so going even more might even be a bit too much for me. Who knows, with that out of the way I think we are just about done with this post so till next time, I'll see ya'll later!

Making Progress ( The Fates That Bind Us )

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! Happy holidays as the air grows colder and the children get excited for their brake from school I myself have found that this winter brake is going to be quite the eventful one which is actually a step away from the norm for me. Despite the fact that I'm going to probably hang out with friends a lot and going to visit a country that I have at least a 30% chance of getting mugged ( maybe an under or over statement as I didn't check any statistics other than personal experience ) there is a for certain fact that working on my drawing skills is still going to be a high priority that I will continue to work on and chapters for TFTBU will be thought about. However, during the time I spend in El Salvador ( beautiful country but very violent...) I won't be able to post and work on anything digital as any and everything worth more than $10 is going to be staying at my house rather then go with me. As for the week I am not there, there is still the possibility that I won't find much time to work on anything too time consuming such as posts and or chapters so prepare for a large break ( p.s. I know I haven't posted awhile on the blog so those who only read the blog already have gone through a large break and I apologies but those who follow my book know that I have not been just lazing around but instead working very hard on that. ).
Before we start I also want to mention that there is going to be announced after the HP so do look forward to that.

 This first picture ( I know! Two pics today! ) is one where I was doing some basic practice with poses and anatomy using several images of people. It is worth noting that these pictures I used were not sketches but actual people which is a slight indicator to my growth. The ones inked are the ones from pictures while the other were one of two things. Either drawings I did of live subjects, top left, of just practice of anatomy off the top of my head, bottom.

This next one was actually one I did that was to practice getting form down. I actually used a very popular painting as my guide in order to get the pose. While I got the majority of the direction and form down pretty ok-ish, the hands suffered quite a bit...

And with that, today's HP comes to a close. It may have been a bit short and unorganized but it was really hard to get everything I needed for finals set up and then get this post together. Let's move onto the announcements though. First off I'd like to announce that very soon I will be working on my first comic series which will be a ginormous step forward from where we started a little over a year ago. Many fans of TFTBU would know that I want to turn that into a comic series and that I've actually worked on some concept art ( here ) but, for me to make that a comic series that would fit my vision for it will have to have me with some experience and much better at art then I am at the moment as the series is designed to be a very visually focused series ( kinda why it is so hard to try and make it a written novel...). So, for my first comic series I am actually going to follow in the footsteps of one of my favorite artist, https://randowis.deviantart.com/, who wanted to make an original story comic but first did just cartoon renditions of events that he experienced in his life. Being a huge influence on me and also me having quite the interesting life stories, I thought about doing the exactly that. For a title I have thought a lot longer than I did when I made TFTBU with something kinda like, "Slightly Uncommon " or something along those lines. I am planning to post any comics on webtoons most likely but I'll make sure to explain clearly if I do or not.  If you have any other ideas I would be glad to hear them so do make sure to contact me with any of the listed contact options I have listed here.
Speaking of contact info, it is worth noting that I have added two new ways to get in touch with me. The new ways you can contact me is through the game chat service of Discord which I have actually made a sever for already and through Line. As for future options to look for, I have begun to work on a Patreon account once I get final products of concept arts and profiles for TFTBU done so make sure to look for that although I will announce when it comes out. Improvements

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! Today's might be a bit different from the usual posts as normally don't talk much about my personal life other than band but this post will have some personal life stuff.  So first things first, I'm actually trying to get my first job! I've had " jobs " before such as working with my dad or family friends but never anything like working at a commercial store. It's a really big step in my life and I really hope that I can use the money from said job to buy more things I need like art supplies, cameras, and I think that's really it for the things I need...
 Anyways moving onto the next topic, my current sketch book ( much like my last ) is falling apart. Those who know me know that I am not a very gentle person... So since my drawings are... Tear-able ( sorry) I decided to buy another sketch book. Usually this wouldn't be something I would bring up but, usually I have had a history of buying cheaper stuff as I feel that one who is in the process of getting better at a certain skill. They should not buy the fanciest stuff. It's not an ideal I push to others but that is the ideal I go with. Anyways back on topic, as today's HP will show I have improved a little. So once I finish all the pages of my current $1 Wal-mart sketchbook I will graduate to my brand new $5, hard cover, Artist Loft sketchbook! Still pretty cheap but it will most definitely be an upgrade for me!
I think that is a good point to stop personal life stuff and move on to the HP.

 The HP may be a smaller one than usual with only two drawings but it does have an interesting revelation to it. The drawing on the left was one I basically copied off of Pinterest as it was made to be a practice. However, the smaller drawing on the right is much different. It is less basic shapes and more silhouetted and that was not a sketch that I saw online. That was a pose, which I'll post below, of an actual person. I started with whats called, " lines of actions " which is basically stick figures that one uses to be their base. From there, I used some reference from the picture to the anatomy in order to piece it together. Lastly I inked most of it with a pen only leaving out parts I want to improve. This step up from straight up having to copy or trace a sketch is a huge step for me as in a drawing I haven't posted but may someday. I came across a problem where I could get the head shape quite right so I got my camera, set the timer and posed. For the first time I can actually just use a photography of a person in order to get basic poses down. Very soon I might be able to start working on the comic series that I am currently writing as a book which you can read on the link on the face -> 0-0.
Speaking about my series, I want to make a different title and cover so suggestions are highly appreciated. Not only that but I have published an entirely new chapter so it's worth checking it out! For those who haven't read it yet, I'd highly recommend you to check it out and to remember that as a new novelist I am open to critic just as I am with my artwork. That's all I have for today. Totally not late

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! I know that I posted a bit late this week and I'm sorry... I hope that it isn't too much of a problem but I'm sure you guys will be ok with it. This weekend I got caught up in having fun at six flags so yeah...

On this page I focused a lot on using references. I'm pretty glad that the page got such good results and it something I thoroughly enjoyed making it. Also, I was told that going into depth of the steps I took was a little boring so I'll skip that or at least try to condense it for future post.  

Onto my trip to Six Flags this weekend I made sure to not only have fun with friends but I also took so nice pictures that'll I'll post right here so enjoy!

3rd Times a Charm

Hello and welcome to another brand new post of LLG! This post just so happens to be my 3rd post in a row since my period of uncertainty. It feel pretty good to finally be getting back to a more stable schedule. But today we have a lot to cover so let's get started!

For the H.P. of the day I have this ok-ish page in my sketch book. First of I'd like to note the full pencil drawings other than the face in the middle. These are drawings of bits or whole parts of people or things that I saw. for instance, the horrible sketch of a sink was done during my physics class. As you can tell it did not go very well... On a slightly better path, The sketch on the top right of a person in a chair was one I quickly sketched out in about a few minutes ( since people usually move ) and I was pretty proud of it. During the process of it, I tried to utilize the practice of using simple lines and shapes in order to get the basic shape of the body ( most prevalent in the neck downward ),  but then tossed that when doing majority of the head. Moving on to the eye ( which may look familiar to some) which was me trying out for the first time a tutorial on Deviant Art right here! I am going to try this multiple times so do make sure to try and keep track on it. Lastly, the multiple drawings of the heads were done so that I could try and nail head shapes in all angles as much as possible. It is also worthy to note on the pen drawings that the blue is used on the guiding lines while the black is used on the actual shape. As far as HP of today we are done so lets head onto the next thing.
Those of you who check my " Contact Me " page would know that I recently up-ed my social media presence. I added not only a Instagram ( here ), I also added my YouTube channel ( here  only one video though at the moment), and a snap chat ( just check the page.). I am going to try and make sure to use these mediums in order to better spread the blog and also connect better with you guys. This brings me to the fact that no matter how hard I try that I can only get so far which is why I ask you guys to share this blog with anyone you think would enjoy it. I work very hard on it and would really appreciate it! That's enough of self advertising.
Any of you guys who follow my Instagram would know that I have opened a new contest for you guys to participate in! I've been working on a book series, as many of you know, and I've found out that the tittle and cover are not the best. This is why I decided to work on the cover and ask you guys if you have any ideas for a tittle. The link to the story will be located right ( here ) so that you can read it to get a better idea of what it is about. Not only can you do that, but you can also give me some tips for improvement as it is my first series and it is thought out to be very visual rather than wordy so it is going to have many flaws that you can help me with. The only insensitive at the moment to do these things is from the goodness from your heart since I don't have much to give but I can make a shout out if that is what you want or maybe at some point I could even make prints from my shop as prizes. That last one is just an idea at the moment so let me know what you think of it so I can work on it.
The last thing I would like to bring up is the fact that as of the Friday that just passed, I have only 1 or 2 more football games to attend as a band member.

Almost in the Clear

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! As many of you know, I have been very busy for the past few months with highschool marching band. This has made making post very difficult since August ( when practice had started. ). With the season just about being over with me only having two, non competitive, show performances left and the only days of the week of having after and before school practices being now only once a week for the next two weeks, post will be more frequent at least in theory. There is no 100% certainty to that claim as I am going to try and get a job for money and who knows what projects I'll get that might make it harder to get post out but I will do my best. That's enough on that though, lets get started on today's post.

No matter how busy I am, I as always I am working hard to ensure that my artistic skills can improve. This is a page where I started trying to figure out the facial features and shape of the main character of the story I'm writing ( This is a link to said story ). Those who've read my story know that the main character is made to not be a very confident and brave character. Wanting to represent these characteristics starting with the eyes. Getting some advice from one of my friends to do more of a droopy eye shape which I think works really well with the top right one. The eyes that are in the middle that are much more sharper was a style I feel most comfortable doing but with the main character it won't work very well. It might work for some other characters though.
On to another topic, if you feel like supporting me and my blog along with the other things I do online then I'd like to take the time to bring up my print shop in Deviant Art. On my page I have made a few photo's into prints for anyone to buy the prints. Said prints can be bought in various forms such as an art print, canvas, or as a photo. Someday I may make drawings into prints but, as of my current skill in drawing I do not feel that my art would be worthy of being bought yet. The link to my page will be right here! 
I also created a snapchat account so make sure to check that out when you get the chance on my contact me page. After getting snapchat I realized how awkward I am at using things of the sorts but I will try and make it where you could learn a little about my day to day life a little better. Probably not going to go far with that probably as I am planning on posting YouTube videos at some point.

 
  ( Picture of me working on blog ). I'm not the person who thinks vloging when one doesn't do that much different from the usual works very well. However, as I find myself getting closer and closer to college and having to think of practicing more and more in the things I want to do such as film, animation, game design and so on. I feel that experimenting would be a good way to not only a good way to experience new things but to also get some practice.
I'm also still working very hard on the next chapter in the book I am writing ( Link here ). I haven't finished the 8th chapter yet as I planned for it to be another major part of the story but I am having second thoughts on just how and what should be done. Another thing that could be done is that I could take a break from the action and take a moment to just have a few fun/filler chapters in order for the pacing to be much better as I feel the story has gone a bit too fast. Who knows, make sure to check it out and give me some ideas. I'd greatly appreciate and I know that the story is kinda garbage at the moment as it was planned heavily as a comic series meaning that parts with intense action like fights are very hard to portray in words.
Lastly I would like to take a moment to thank you guys for being patient through my dry posting periods. Things in my day to day life have been taking a lot of time and energy and for you guys to be so patient is just great :3. Back at it Again!

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! It seems like the periods between post have been getting longer and longer and with my constant attempts to shorten them failing awfully. Have I given up on my blog? Nope! I know I've said it a hundred times but I'm sure that I'll end up saying it a hundred more that I am going to try my best to get post out as much as possible even if that ruins the scheduled. If you like the blog then just subscribe so that you can get notified of post and you'll have no problem! Might sound like a cheesy money grab from subscribers but honestly that'll never happen with the amount of page views I get. Anyways Lets get started on the stuff you came here for.

SO this page is my attempts on copying facial expressions of characters of some of my favorite web-comics. The comics such as " I Love Yoo" and " The Beehive " are both from the site Webtoons while " Four Leaf " is from Tapastic. Both are great sites and the comics are ones I'd highly recommend for others to read as they are fun to read and have good art styles. Readers of this blog know that I myself want to start a comic series but at the moment my artistic skills are not yet at the level to do that however, I have gotten the story of an idea for a comic series and been working on it on the story writing site of Wattpad. I'd love for any of my readers to go check that out in the link of the face 0-0. I've spent quite some time on it and even got a few chapters released but with the lack of time I've had it has been a real mess trying to work on it so I'd love to hear some critic on it just as I always ask for. 

Now for a little insight of just where in the never ending void of band has my time gone I've been taking a lot of photos with a new camera I bought ( Sony Cyber Shot DSC-H300) of things at football games and band competition which I will post here!

 The press box and a band that I'm not a part of at the Yamaha Band Cup Competition. This was on the side that only other competing bands could view from. This allowed us to get a view of the back side of the show. This took place at Judson High school.

 A fellow band member of mine who is a huge music nerd. He sat in the middle and away from the rest so that he could study the other bands. After this picture I asked him about his thoughts about the band he saw when I took the picture and he wasn't impressed...

A band that preformed at the Yamaha Cup. This is from the other side ( audience view ) and the band had people ride bikes through the show.

That's just some of the dozen pictures I've taken of my band travels and there are more to come as the season still got some weeks left. 

Anyways, band isn't the only thing I have been taking pictures for. 

As many of you probably know, I have a Deviant Art account that I post some art on and as of now I have started posting picture prints. These are photos that while aren't taken by the best photographer as I just started ( especially when I'm using a camera for filming class, working on drawing, Trumpet, school and my book.) but they are pretty good, come in a variety of shapes and forms and everyone has at least a days work of editing in Photoshop and or Lightroom in order to give the best possible quality. I am looking to get better equipment and enroll into classes so a little income would be nice. You want to support me then that is fantastic and you could get a nice photograph print ( maybe even art in the future ) for yourself. The link will be in the face right here o3o. Still Alive!

Hello and welcome back to another post of LLG! I know I keep saying that I would be getting into the rhythm but it is painfully obvious that it is possible that I have a bit of re-adjusting in order to get back to my post a week scheduled. I'd like to thank for you guys for being patient and do understand that I am trying to do as much as I can to get post out as much as possible.
Lastly before I begin the normal part of the post I'd like to point out several things. First is that I am in a filming class which as the main assignment of the course is to work on a short narrative film for a Texas school competition called the " University Interscholastic League ", which is a big project along side the mini projects I have to do for the class so a lot of creativeness, energy and time that I would spend on my book and blog is occupied at the moment ( along with the fact that for the school marching band I am required to practice 8 hours before and after school every week and have football games the band attends. However, this will end around November so it won't be much longer. ). Lastly as I do want to get into filming ( reason I took a filming course ) I did buy a cheap new camera to use for videos I may post. projects and pictures. I do have a more expensive camera I can use but it is very stressful to hold a couple hundred dollars of tech in hand so for day to day stuff I will be using the cheaper one one which will be used for today's post. Speaking of which, I think now would be a good time to move onto that.

This is the first time I've used this camera for taking pictures for sketches so it'll take some time for me to get use to. Anyways, this is just a picture of a sketch where I was practicing getting the head shape and to mark the areas where the hair would be. The reason I marked it instead of drawing the actual hair is because I have yet to be able to draw hair well enough to consider experimenting on my notes... I've practiced hair and will continue to and when I am able to do it properly I will post it. Anyways that's the drawing for today. It's been awhile...

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! It has been way too long but the first few weeks of school have been rough and with all the collage courses, band and clubs I have had my days jammed packed and it leaves me with just about no energy or motivation to do anything after it all finishes for the day 0_0. Thankfully, in all this chaos and long days I have had one thing that hasn't been stopped by all of this. What I have been able to do is drawing which means that for awhile even if I break my hands I will have more material for you ;3. That being said I want to only post one drawing at a time in order to be able to have continuous stuff for you! So let's get started.

So this is one of the best anatomy based sketches I've done in my long absence and while it has come out pretty good it was only by luck as most sketches after aren't as great... But, that is not all bad news. The fact that my skill was strong enough to be able to draw ok like this even with luck is a great step forward. This was done with a reference from a site called Art Models which features " safe for work " pics that you can use for drawings. The pic I used was of a guy running but as you can tell...it didn't become that but that doesn't mean that its a terrible sketch!
While my skills have so much more to go I have improved quite a bit. It's a bit crazy to think that ever since a little more than a year ago when I decided that I would become an artist I have not gone a day where I don't draw at all. I know I haven't posted everyday and I don't even do big sketches every day but, whenever I'm in the classroom, eating lunch or even just doing home work I always do some doodles on the side drawing anything I see or think of and maybe I'll post some pics of examples of my homework doodles ( sounds like a good segment). Who knows but yeah, it's amazing to think how much time and effort I've put in this dream that as a kid I hated but now I love it and it is slowly becoming a reality.
Lastly, before I end today's post I want to talk about the book I'm writing as that is another thing that has been postponed from all of my busyness so I am still working on it ( also planning to tone it down in the seriousness at the beginning as it feels wrong at the beginning ). Also, once my drawing gets better I can begin drawing a few pics of scenes so it can be more of a light novel kind of thing cause this is a series I've thought of as a comic so adding the drawings would be really cool but that will take months maybe for my skill to get better. Getting aHEAD, Writing Book and New Name!

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! Today we have a lot to go over so I'd like to cut the small talk short and jump right in! First topic I would like to cover is the art I have for you this week so we'll start with that.
This is another technique practice I did to try and pin point my study in anatomy. It was going to be a big full drawing but I couldn't get the bodies down so I decided that I would practice those and the 3/4ths pose before trying that scene.
The next topic I'd like to talk about is the book I'm writing at https://www.wattpad.com/story/116417302-the-fates-that-bind-us will be heavily edited again from start to the point that it is at the moment. Updates will continue though so look forward to future updates.
Lastly, to end this post ( which ended much quicker than I thought...) is the fact that the title of the blog got changed! We changed from Living in the Land of the Giants to The Little Legend Guy. I would have changed the name to something else but lots of my accounts have LLGWriter as their name so I wanted to continue the LLG trend.

Busy Busy Busy.... Wasn't This a Title Already?

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! Today is that going to be as large of a post as others but thats alright....right?... Well thats besides the point. For today all I will talk about is a drawing I did for practice by using a picture an artist drew( who sadly I couldn't find their name so I can not legally show the reference picture..) and just some things I added to my daily scheduled. Enough la le gagging though, lets get started!
First off I'd like to start with the drawing.

This was a basic form drawing I did of a Teen Titans fan art I saw and I know there is a lot missing and it could be better but it is one of my better starts and after a certain point I kinda felt like I was forcing myself to finish it which from every artist I've known is a big no no so this is probably as far as I'll go with this drawing. While it isn't something pretty to look at it does have an important purpose as it allowed me to practice shaping the human body for certain actions and also make slight differences with the mouths to make expression. 

Now to those who know me a bit better knows that I'm pretty active and I like to workout and over the course of most of my life I  have worked out but, as of the last year that work out has been very little compared to what I used to do which while let me retain some muscle it made me lose 10 lbs of it... But that is alright because I lately started working out again and while it is slowly growing it is still very fun and easyish. I would recommend working out even a little to anyone and I have and still do. Well that is all for today and till next post I'll see ya'll later!

 

Trying new things and also Update in Schedule

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! Today we are going to talk about some things like my schedule and how it will effect posts and updates to my blog and book. I also want to bring up a new method to try and improve my art skills ( I swear I haven't been slacking despite the lack of posts and content...) so lets get started.

First let's start on one of the more interesting parts of today's post. So recently I've trying to use more orthodox methods of art practice such as purchasing the book I did earlier this summer and now using a doll in order to have a mold able pose reference. It is a really good practice and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone trying to get into art but there was one thing I just noticed.

This is a drawing I did quiet a while back and shared on this blog. This was done within the first month of me practicing and beginning of this blog. 

 
This is a drawing done just this weekend almost a year later from the other drawing and is a sketch of the model at the very top of the page. I know its a bit hard to see but comparing the two I can't help but feel like despite the year of practice, studying of techniques and the guide that my skills as an artist are not getting better but rather worse. This does scare me a bit but by no means does it mean I'm going to stop drawing. It just means that I'm going to have to try and figure what works more and follow it and make sure to make time to draw as much as possible ( although finding the ideas and energy are the hard part..).
Anyways that was just the art topics I wanted to bring up in today's post. the next is a bit more happier and isn't about art. So for most of you out there in the U.S. are still in your summer period but as a band student or anyone in a very competitive school activity would tell you that their summer period has ended most likely. This is the very same case for me and having to practicing might drain me a bit. Keyword is " might " as last year I blogged no problem and with practice already starting I am still able to post and have energy so even though this post is a little late don't expect too many delays. However I've really been needing to edit the chapters already written in my book and begin writing the new ones which may be an entirely different story. For those of you who don't know I've started writing a book series on the site Wattpad and in excitement and anticipation of lack of energy and time I wrote the first chapter in an hour and the next 4 chapters the night of that day... That being said much editing must be done to many of those chapters. Also, What made me want to write the story was that I was getting a little tired on waiting on my art skills to make my story idea into a comic series like a friend of mine has done on Tapastic here " https://tapas.io/series/A-Problem-of-Personhood " ( hopefully they won't get made at me for posting the link to their comic in my blog with like 10 viewers...) and its been a good year that I've had the idea for the story so I decided to make it a book here. Finally another post in a row!

Hello, my wonderful viewer's to another exciting post by nonother than myself. I am going to try my very best to fill this post with more than just artsy stuff so it can be more enjoyable to more people. Let's get started!
  So first thing first I'd like to bring attention to a very hard debate I have been having within myself for quite awhile ( p.s. If you do not like the topic of video games I suggest that you skip the next couple of paragraphs.). So, recently I got myself a brand new Nintendo Switch console which the process of getting it is a story of its own ( as many know how infamous they are to be sold out everywhere...). So first I had to decide if I wanted the console in the first place. As a major fan of Nintendo and with the announcement/release of games such as Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey made me want to get the system but, the mixed reviews and of all things the pressure of my parents who not only hate me spending money on nonnecessities and the mention of video games made me think about whether or not I should try to get the system. Eventually ( after the copy of Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild WiiU I was borrowing was given back ) I decided that I was going to try and get it eventually!
  Next, I encountered the challenge of everyone else. Finding a system for sale at the lowest price possible which surprisingly was at retail stores ( at $300) than on sites like Amazon ( up to $500). I checked every time I went to a store and met the same response, " Sorry sir. We got a shipment this morning but we are sold out...". Again and again, I tried to the same result until one fateful day at the Target near my house. " We sold out already but, try calling our site in the morning we can let you know if we have any and you can drop by. ". This was just what I needed and every morning I called to check until I got the response I needed. " yes, we do got some.". That day I bought a Switch which was about 2 weeks from now.
  Sadly, my true debate had just arisen. With little money left ( just went on a trip ) and looking to invest into stock for college ( and to make my parents have trust in me that I'm a responsible young adult) but there was just one problem. I have one of the most advanced gaming systems in the world which potential far exceeds any gaming device ever made! but no games on it... So, of course, I going to get a game but the question is since I am going to be saving money for quite awhile ( meaning other than this last purchase I will not be able to buy anything until I invest) what is a game I can get that'll last awhile for me to get? This will be today's question of the day ( haven't done that in awhile..) and while I've mostly made up my mind on what to get ( Splatoon 2) your responses may change my mind. Anyways at first I thought of getting the Retro bundle known as Shovel Knight Treasuer Trove, which includes all the DLC of the two side games ( SK Specter of Torment and Plague Knights story ( forgot the name )) and the main game with multiplayer options. I was going to go with this but then * sighs * then Nintendo had to make things difficult and release a lot of cool and exciting news and a demo for Splatoon 2... SO, after the past couple of days, I have been asking friend opinions, watching trailers ( no gameplay though or very little ) trying to figure out what to get. The deciding factor came when I thought about how easy it can to get into a session with shooting games and with the new Salmon Run and story mode Splatoon 2 won over so when it comes out I am going to buy it.
  So for all of those who have been skipping the past couple of paragraphs because you're here for art or you just hate games you are in luck! This is the point where I will post some art and talk about it.

This is just a page in my sketchbook of me practicing with things like 3-D shapes, shading, and cylinders. Not that much to talk about in this page other than the fact that the barely visable T.C on the cup I drew stands for Taco Cabana which is the place I got the drink from. Not dead....sorry about delays

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG! It's been awhile and I really tried to post every week but I have limitations and could not access the internet on my laptop for quite awhile ( the reason why will not be said however). So with that being said I guess thats the end of this post.... Oh wait, I don't need to use my laptop for sketching art! That's right, even though I've done a lot of my best work on the laptop I still sketch more on paper as I do know that if I want to progress I have to get good at the basic materials ( aka, paper, pencil, pens and etc.) so today will be another post with just sketches. If you're the kind of person who prefers my digital work ( although out of the five people who read this and with my skill level I don't know how you can prefer anything of mine....) I'm sorry, I've started somethings and while I do like to show it of in the progress of my work this one is a bit different as it's for a friend and once it's complete I'd have to ask for their permission to post it because it is a drawing of them and some other stuff. So lets get started!

First off I'd like to spotlight a book I recently bought. This book, " The Complete Book of Drawing ", by Barrington Barber is a massive monstrosity of page after page about making art! As someone trying to get into the art world and not much experience I wanted a physical guide on the study of art and many who've seen my sketch book pics will know that when I learn of new techniques I write them down in my sketch book. I do watch a lot of videos on youtube but at times it can be frustrating cause I like to have still pictures and words to read rather than video and people talking which is why I bought this book which honestly to me is kinda like a textbook for school but with art ( I know that some schools may have actual textbooks for art but I don't have that TvT). I first saw this book at the art store Michaels for $20 but I bought it used on Amazon for on $5 so it is really worth it and you should check it out.

Enough free advertisement! Lets get into the sketches! This first pic is of the first page of my new sketchbook ( left my old one at a relatives house...) So I decided to fill it up as much as possible with a flurry of sketches. I should point out though that the millions of circles to the left are my sisters multiple attempts at making a perfect ( or close to ) circle and the five on the right hand side are my attempts. As you can barely see I did make one in just 5 tries. Next on the top left side was a pose I saw online and I drew ( copied ) in order to try and practice a bit and have some fun drawing some funny poses. The eye drawing on the top middle with the words fail on top of it is my attempt at a realistic eye which looks much better on the screen than it does on the paper... The weird shapes all around the page ( mostly on the top right ) are some warmups I was practicing from my new book. Lastly in the middle of the page there is my tasty attempt on a cake...didn't go so well....

This next page is a lot less hectic than the last. The first drawing on the top left is an eye that I tried drawing.... Next below that is a drawing I tried to do from scratch of a person's face and shoulders which I tried to make as many details as possible. The last one on the top right is one I was drawing from a scene of a movie but it isn't finished so it's missing a lot of details.

This last page has only one drawing at the moment but it is an important one as it is a practice of shading 3-D objects again from the book. Anyways thats all for the sketches for today and until next post I'll see ya'll later!

Bit of a diffrent post

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG. Today I thought I might do a bit of a different post as some people have told me that as a writer of such a blog I should include things that I think and do which in way I do share with my drawings and today's post will kinda be based on a previous drawing but it'll be more focused on somethings I've been thinking about and doing. One of the first things I'd like to talk about is old time cartoons, their style, what are my feelings about them and why that is and why it isn't. So to start things off, for anyone who's been with this blog for awhile may remember a pair of drawings I did awhile back shown below.

Anyone could tell this is heavily  based of old cartoons as the joints are made to be more lose and curved rather than structured and rigid and the eyes have the slight touch to them that isn't too detailed but is a mark of the time and lastly the gloves being a big part for old time animators being a favorite of theirs. So yeah, I do like the style of old time cartoons but the reason I wanted to talk about this is because of the why. Well one big reason is I love the looseness and unrealistic characteristic often seen in such cartoons.

Another big reason is because an amazing fighting game I love known as SkullGirls by Reverge Labs.

Many who see this game might dismiss it as a very fan service game ( they wouldn't be too wrong about that though...) but the animation is great and two of my favorite characters are kinda appropriate ( the two characters are Beowulf and Peacock ). Anyways ( getting a bit sidetracked ) the art style is cartoonish and the character Peacock is entirely based off old cartoons ( also the music ( mostly jazz ) works so well with the artistic backgrounds). Point is, while every character takes inspirations from different sources it is more active with the old cartoon style. Point is, I like old time cartoon style and a great game with amazing art and music is one of the many reasons for that being the case. SO! what is the reason that some people might think I like old time cartoons and just isn't the case? Bendy and the Ink Machine. Not a terrible game but in my opinion it is way overrated and it is everywhere. Next story is about how my Mom likes to write poems and wants to share them. Now it is a well known fact to my family that I write a blog and post my own content on it to share so my Mom had asked me if I could make her a blog. This is, she wants to be able to customize it as much as possible and I know for a fact that'd she'd have trouble with the Blogger interface that I use for this very own blog. So, I've decided to make her blog site for her using Notepad++, html and css and it made me think. Why do I use Blogger instead of making my own site? Why limit myself to a site made to those who can't code and design when I could show my skills, practice and set myself apart?! Because I'm lazy ;3 and since I can't pay myself and I'm not my Mom who I'd gladly pick up a new language of coding to make her the best site ever! So, once I finish that project I'll post the link to it so you guys can meet my marvelous Mom and see how bad I can mess up code I've learned in a single day..... Look forward to that.... First Summer Post

Hello and welcome to another LLG post! Now to be honest its been awhile since my last post and that has been for a number of reasons such as finals ( for school), part time job and helping out family, but no matter how busy things get I'll always have a little time to do a sketch here and there and post it here. I've shown a lot of my digital work quite a bit so today is gonna be all about my sketches on paper so without further ado lets get started!

This first page ( sorry about weird orientation but that is just how it came out when I uploaded it ) and here I was focusing on full body anatomy, eyes and buildings in one point perspective with line shading. Fairly simple and random page ( like most of these pages will be so be prepared)   

 

This next one was more focused on positioning of features such as the face and body. I also did things like emotion, a poem ( for some reason...) and tried to make a face out of a butt....

This next one was focused on how to make things more fluent with simple task such as talking, looking and sitting. I tried drawing a rather simple un-detailed hand and a little Android robot as I like the Android brand.

This next page is one of the only pages dedicated to the study of just one technique known as The Loomis Method which is a way to divide the face in a more realistic face. on the top of this page I wanted to make a drawing of a person preparing to run ( without reference ) but ended up getting a walk... the next drawing is one I saw on Pintrest and it being a really cool reference I wanted to try and draw it.

This is the last page I've done and for this one each drawing is for it's on thing. The first very strange one at the top was meant to be my second attempt at drawing someone going for a dash but ended up nothing like I had hoped... The next in the middle was me using the Loomis Method I spoke of earlier to make a quick sketch as someone challenged me to see how far I've come since I first started sketching seriously ( or at least as serious I could be...) and it in my eyes is really good considering it used no reference and the base of it and basic planning was done in mere minutes which may not sound special to any experienced artist but with me it is a huge step as some of my best drawings before have taken days to complete. Lastly the bottom drawing was me trying to use the eyes in a simple way but still be able to try and convey a feeling, I'll leave you to decide what that feeling it but for now that is all I have for you today. Double HP of the Day!!! GDI meme

Hello and welcome to another post of LLG, post are getting less frequent as of late and I'm sorry for such but today I thought I wasn't going to have time or content to post for today but life had other plans and such was possible. So with that being cleared up let us begin!

Fair warning to the fact that both drawing today are the same but on different platforms as this sketch I did was yet again just a quick guide I cooked up in order to aid a project I have been given. The following is a simple non detailed drawing of a person in a dark room on a computer copying the works of others. Due to limits on time and me wanting to do a quality final product I raced to draw this with little to no detail only focusing on the anatomy which I had superb difficulty on the right side odd enough and jotting the basic ideas for the digital version at the top.

This second pic is one of a work in progress for the project given to me where I must make original animations for all of the boxes. Those of you who think the top left picture is a bit bland are correct to think so as it is incomplete as I still need to add some color, lighting effects and the animating still needs to be done.
